McNamee is 100% a Canary

As anticipated, Anthony McNamee has joined Norwich City on a permanent basis after a brief loan spell at Carrow Road.

McNamee has barely featured for Norwich so far, only making a couple of appearances from the bench. This was acknowledged by City manager Paul Lambert who recently told the media that McNamee was ‘finding it a bit difficult at the minute just because of the way the team is going, but his time will come.’

The sometimes tricky winger McNamee was signed by David Byrne/Maurice Malpas in January 2008 for an undisclosed fee from Watford.

On his day, McNamee was a constant threat – I recall the winger giving Frank Sinclair a torrid time in a win over Huddersfield early in his Swindon career.

Sadly, these displays became few and far between and eventually it was pretty clear that he no longer had any desire to play for the Robins – especially during his 22 appearances this season. He didn’t even celebrate his goal at Tranmere Rovers!

McNamee made 88 appearances for Swindon in all competitions scoring four goals.

Vital Swindon wishes him well.

Good luck to him – McNamee and Swindon had run it’s natural course.

His attitute was all wrong this season – not the player we can afford to have in in a TEAM – best shot of the over self rated wannabe.
Do you get the feeling I’m not impressed with him.

You’re right – I do get that feeling!
