Danny Wilson has decided against making Alex Revell’s loan contract a permanent one and has now returned to his parent club Southend United.

Revell joined just days after featuring for Southend at the County Ground – a game which Town won 2-1.

It was a surpsrising move but Revell found himself a regular in the Swindon side and scored his only two goals in the 3-2 away win at Brentford in early October.

However, late he became a bit-part player featuring mostly from the subs bench. His last game for Swindon came as a sub in the 2-1 win over Huddersfield Town in late November.

Vital Swindon thanks Alex Revell for his contribution and wishes him all the best (except against Swindon!).

No surprise really. He hadn’t played for ages. I also reckon we must have someone lined-up.

I’ve heard Reuban Reids name mentioned – feel sorry for Revell seems his heart is in the right place but his football is lacking.
