Southend United manager Steve Tilson has confirmed that he is looking to extend the loan spell of Town defender Sean Morrison for a further month.

Talking to the media, the Shrimpers boss admitted that ‘Sean has done very well lately and we want him to stay…We’ve spoken to Swindon about extending his loan and we’re waiting for them to get back to us.’

Morrison, 19, was sent-off on his Southend debut at Yeovil Town but has recovered from that early setback and is now showing United fans why he has been linked to top flight sides in the past.

If Swindon want to cash in on his ability then they’ll have to be quick as he is out of contract in the summer. So far this season Morrison has struggled with the fine form of Scott Cuthbert and Gordon Greer.
