Vital Swindon Town reviews our very own ground, The County Ground in Swindon ahead of our League One encounter with Leeds United.

Atmosphere – 6/10

The atmosphere thus far at the County Ground has been quite flat. A lot of the fans who made noise in the Town End stand have now moved to the Don Rogers or Arkells Stand due to reduced ticket prices this season.

View – 8/10

If you are in the Town End your view is limited to about a 5/10 due to supporting beams. In the Arkells Stand there are 2 beams that may impair your view and in the Don Rogers Stand you have a clear view. On the Stratton Bank there are no beams in the way however their is not much of an incline to see the action behind the goal.

Stewarding – 7/10

The stewarding in the Town End has been quite relaxed however we have reports that stewarding in the main stands tends to be quite strict.

Food – 7/10

Throughout the years the food has been absolutely poor however with new ownership in place the quality of food has gone up which is very pleasing to say the least.

Pubs – 8/10

For away pubs The Merlin pub is near by or there are plenty of chain pubs such as Yates, Walkabout, Weatherspoons and the Glasshouse in the Swindon Town centre. Away fans are not permitted in the County Ground Hotel.

Getitng In and Out – 6/10

It can be a battle to get away from the County Ground and when you do, you will most likely have to battle the Magic Roundabout.

Overall

Swindon Town’s County Ground is an old stadium with some modernisation that has taken place over the Summer. Facilities are better for the fans and there has been a lick of paint around the outside of the ground to tidy things up.
