Vital Quotes:

‘We won’t start writing obituaries of our season yet, although the league table doesn’t lie and we have been playing catch-up too long.’

Swindon Town Manager Iffy Onuora

‘This is our last home game and it’s a massive one for us. There could be a big prize at the end of it for us and we need every possible advantage.

‘It’s nice for people to prepare like the game’s a cup final because this one really is. It’s a local derby with massive consequences.’

Bristol City Manager Gary Johnson

Bristol City Team News:

Matt Heywood and Scott Murray will be unavailable for selection due to injuries. Both players could feature should City make the play-offs. Former Swindon midfielder Grant Smith has returned from his loan at Walsall due to a groin injury and again will not feature. City currently sit 8th in the League One table after turning around their season after sacking Brian Tinnion. Earlier in the season City found themselves in the relegation zone. Bristol City can mathmatically relegate Swindon if they win or draw. The Young striker has been one of the bright points during City’s season and has managed to become a fan favourite at Ashton Gate. The pacy youngster who came through the ranks at City will be looking to relegate Swindon once and for all.

Swindon Town Team News:

Swindon will come into the game without the services of Lee Peacock and Paul Smith who both need surgery. Aaron Brown and Gareth Whalley are questionable for the game and will face a late fitness test. Christian Roberts and Jerel Ifil could come back into the team after playing for the reserves in the week. Swindon Town will be mathmatically relegated if they do not win and if teams above win.

Player to watch: Chris McPhee

With Jamie Cureton’s goals drying up lately and not scoring away from home for Swindon and injury to Lee Peacock, the on loan striker will be looking to impress and perhaps secure a permanent contract for next season.

Match Facts & Stats

Swindon Town beat Bristol City 2-1 on 11 November with goals from Rory Fallon and Neale McDermott. Scott Murray scored for City.

Match Prediction:

It’s a difficult one to predict. City have been soaring high lately and with injuries to key players it does not look good. Either way at the end of the day it is likely Swindon Town will be relegated officially to League Two, either by City or results elsewhere.
