Swindon Town will have new owners within the next 48 hours according to director Bob Holt. The new owners want to be in place by the start of the season and plan to pay the £900,00 CVA off making the club debt free.

Speaking to the Swindon Advertiser Bob Holt said, ‘The administrators have been informed, everything is agreed and I know the board have spoken to them today. They want to be in charge and be majority shareholders before the start of the season.

‘I would be disappointed if it is not completed by Friday. We have always been working towards getting them in by the start and I have been given every reason to believe that.’

Rumours had surfaced in the last couple of days that the takeover was near completion due to the club becoming active in the transfer market again and hopefully with a bit of luck this will finally come to an end over the next few days.

The club has yet to pay a £900,000 CVA which was due at the end of July however it appears that creditors have agreed the club a bit of room to sort this out as they will be paid in full very shortly.

Should the takeover finally be complete this will come as welcome news to Paul Sturrock who will be looking to use additional funds to bolster his squad prior to the League One season.

will they pay it before we may possibly get point deductions? Will they also do the decent thing and give Bill Powers his 1.2 million back???
