Swindon Town boss Maurice Malpas has slammed Plymouth Argyle for sending their Youth Team to play a friendly at the County Ground last night.

Speaking to the local media following Town`s 3-0 win over Argyle Malpas expressed his disappointment in the lack of any first teamers being in the Plymouth squad despite being told they would send the first team, ‘A lot of effort went into the game tonight to prepare for it and I was just disappointed they sent up that type of squad.

‘People paid good money but it was too late in the day to really change anything. I think there will be a few words privately between myself and Lugs (Paul Sturrock) but they will be kept between us.’

Many fans felt short changed after paying £10.00 to see Town play a decent Championship side only for Argyle to show a lack of respect by sending the Youth Team.

Malpas told the media that Town would not have accepted a friendly with Argyle had they known that they would field the Youth Team.

To us it shows a lack of respect to Swindon Town and their fans.
