A source has today told Vital Swindon Town that Swindon Town are currently looking at signing Striker Steve Gillespie from Cheltenham Town.

The source who wished to remain anonymous told Vital Swindon Town, that Swindon would have to pay a fee for the former Bristol City striker who scored 14 goals in 35 starts last season for Cheltenham and helped The Robins retain their League One status.

Swindon boss Maurice Malpas had stated that he was looking at bringing another striker into the club.

Malpas revealed in his Tuesday update to swindontownfc.co.uk that he had been looking to sign an un-named League One player and Gillespie may be that man.

He would be a great signing – scored a fair few goals for a struggling team – helped keep them up.
