Swindon Town booked their place in the last sixteen of the Capital One Cup with a 3-1 victory over Championship side Burnley this evening at the County Ground.

Burnley started the game well and had the best of the chances until 19 minutes in when Paul Benson got on the end of a Gary Roberts cross to make it 1-0 Town.

The ever dangerous Charlie Austin was making a menace of himself and getting plenty of stick off the Swindon faithful.

Town who began to take control of the match would do so even more just before half time as Tommy Miller sliced the ball through to Andy Williams who would slam the ball past Clarets keeper Brian Jenson.

Half Time it was 2-0 to t e League One side and the Giant Killing was on.

Swindon started the second half all guns blazing and had a Matt Ritchie header saved and saw Williams hit the post again.

Clarets manager Eddie Howe brought on Sam Vokes in the second half. The move would be a good one as he pumped the ball forward to Charlie Austin who would run around keeper Wes Foderingham making it 2-1 Swindon. Austin who is a Swindon Town supporter refused to celebrate the goal.

Just as it looked like Burnley found a way back into the game, Troy Archibald-Henville got on the end of a Jay McEveley cross which ended up in the back if the net making it 3-1 to The Reds!

Town were in dreamland once again and when they asked Paolo for a wave, the charismatic Italian chose to wave with his foot which lead to hilarious chants of “Paolo Di Canio, he waves with his foot!”

What a night, Swindon Town are in the final sixteen!
