Swindon Town manager Paul Sturrock has made it clear that anyone who wants to play for Swindon Town will have to live within a 30 mile radius of the County Ground.

Risk of injury to the player was a risk that Sturrock wanted to avoid and at the fans forum this evening, Sturrock stated,

‘We had a real think about things today and no-one outside a 40 mile radius will be staying in Swindon the night before a game. I won’t have them driving too far on the day because they will have problems with their hamstrings and get cramped up so they will be in hotels from now on the night before.’ Sturrock said

‘Any new signing who comes in to the football club will be living within a 30 mile radius of The County Ground. If the players want to play for us (Swindon Town) then they will have to live in the vicinity.’

Just as well Paul Ince left then, don’t think Chester is within the 30 mile radius.
Good to see that Paul S. is getting down to the basics.

I think it is vital that players are not having to drive long distances before a match, well done luggy for addressing some of these issues.

Surely the club should have the same rule for away games the club shouldnt be more than 30 miles from the ground they are playing at?
