Swindon Town`s new chairman has stated the clubs ultimate goal is for a return to the Premier League.

Yes at first glance most Swindon Town fans probably laughed at the very thought of Swindon back in the Premier League, in fact I did when I first read that Jim Little suggested that should be the ultimate aim.

How can Swindon Town have the money to compete in the Championship let alone the Premier League after being in administration twice?

Well according to chairman-designate Jim little the clubs new owners plan on building a new stadium in the borough of Swindon and plan on making the facility multi-purpose to help fund and expand the club.

If you blinked during the 1994/95 season you would probably forget Swindon Town were in the Premier League, the club came up after beating Leicester in the playoff final 4-3 but ever since found itself in financial peril. OK we were bottom of the league whilst in the Premier League and got battered whilst setting a Premier League record for goals conceded but at least we can say we were playing the Chelsea`s, Arsenal`s and Manchester United`s in league fixtures.

Many people blame Swindon`s Premier League adventure for the decline of the club over the last 15 years and thought the club lived beyond their means.

Could it be true though? Will Swindon Town get back to the league of the elite? In our opinion this is very doubtful however promotion itself from the Championship nets you £50M but first things first, lets get promoted to the Championship before we even think about being in the Barclays Premier League again.
