ITV News is this evening reporting that Maurice Malpas is close to being sacked after Town lose their 5th straight home game and rumours suggest he will be replaced by Ian Holloway.

Rumours are rife that the former Bristol Rovers, Leicester City, QPR and Plymouth Argyle boss was at the County Ground during yesterday’s 3-1 defeat.

We cannot confirm if Holloway was at the County Ground. It would be incredibly strange if he was sat in the Town End as reported.

Holloway is now a favourite among Swindon fans to replace Malpas however no one has yet to make any comment.

There is no confirmation from the club about what is happening however chairman Andrew Fitton has given Malpas his full backing so we take this rumour with a pinch of salt.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he did want to check out the team that he sat in the Town End…. wonder if he joined in with the ‘we want Malpass out ‘ chants
