Former Plymouth Argyle and Sheffield Wednesday Defender Steve Adams will link up with Swindon Town during the pre-season. Adams will get a contract if he can prove his fitness.

Swindon Town manager Paul Sturrock rated him as one of his very best players having managed him at both Argyle and Wednesday.

Over the past two seasons at Wednesday Adams has only played 18 games due to an Achilles problem which has stopped his progression over the last 2 seasons.

Adams joins Town on non-contract terms, much like Paul Evans and will have to prove his fitness to earn a full time contract at the County Ground.

Could be a decent signing, Being out of the game for 2 seasons though, does he still have it?

I’m inclined to agree STFC, he was a good player but two seasons is a alot to come back to, hope he does it for you though

Adams is a midfielder not a defender.
