This morning we thought it was just a rumour that James Constable would be making the switch from Oxford to Swindon, then it was reported by the BBC and Oxford Mail that Oxford has turned down an approach for their top goal scorer. Now it appears a second bid has been made the player wants to talk to Swindon about a possible move down the A420 to Swindon Town.

According to Sky Sports News, James Constable has asked to speak to Swindon Town after a second bid was received for the striker earlier on today.

News of the transfer seems to have split both Swindon Town and Oxford United fans.

Some Swindon Town fans have said they don`t want Constable as he is not proven at League One level where Swindon hope to be next season and that he kissed the Oxford United badge at the County Ground during Oxford`s 2-1 win over Swindon earlier this year. Some fans however would welcome Constable with open arms.

Some Oxford fans say that any approach for Constable should be rejected as it`s Swindon whilst other fans say every player has their price and if Swindon meet it, he should be allowed to go as long as Oxford have a replacement lined up.

No word on whether Town`s second bid for Constable was accepted but things are certainly heating up.
