The shambolic consortium who brought Swindon Town fans such superstars as Mauro Almeida and Franklin Anzite are trying to buy or invest in Tranmere Rovers.
Whilst at the County Ground BEST Holdings gave us Ibon Arrieta who couldn’t hit the side of a barn, Franklin Anzite who is perhaps the worst player I have ever seen in a Swindon shirt and Mauro Almeida who couldn’t even make the first team at Accrington Stanley.
Jim Little and his cronies called the players ‘Superstars’ when in reality they were poor players who couldn’t get into any other side. Arrieta was the only player who perhaps could have done something given a chance.
Little then went on to bring in Jose Veiga a dodgy ex-chairman from Benfica whose title was general manager.
Immediately Little began to undermind manager Paul Sturrock by saying the footballing side of things stop with Viega and NOT Sturrock.
Talks between Swindon Town and BEST Holdings collapsed late in November. Both sides blamed each other for the takeover failure.
The club said that once they asked BEST for the money, they legged it whilst BEST said the club kept changing the contract and wanted £18M to clear off.
Eventually BEST left and Andrew Fitton took over the club. Probably the best (no pun intended) thing ever to happen to the club.
We know they were are bunch of clueless people but with the probs Mr F had how much of the truth did they tell us???? Oh well water under the bridge for us now good luck Tranmere.
I still shudder about that BEST situation – what a complete sham that was.
