Q & A: Wolverhampton Wanderers

Image for Q & A: Wolverhampton Wanderers

Another Q&A, this time we talk to our Vital Wolves on their return to the Premier League and Swindon Town on Tuesday night.

I. So, you’re back in the ‘promised land’ of the Premiership. You’ve lost to West Ham United and Manchester City but beaten Wigan Athletic away. What are your feelings about Wolverhampton Wanderers’ chances this season?

I’ve remained fairly confident that we will survive this season. A summer of anticipation and excitement probably left me a little ahead of myself, but West Ham kindly put me back in my place!

II. You’ve got a team full of good Football League players – can they do a similar job in the top flight?

Certainly to an extent players like Jarvis and Keogh have already shown they can step up, but as we know it will be all about consistency.

III. Who are your most important players for the season ahead?

Milijas our new signing will bring some extra quality to our midfield, while goals win you games as they say so Ebanks-Blake needs to be firing on all cylinders once he returns.

IV. Are there any players that should be shown the door?

We have a few players at different stages of their careers is probably the kindest way of putting it! We have some who are not ready for the Premier League by a long run (some have already left). While others you wouldn’t want in and around the starting eleven on a week to week basis, but can still put in a shift when required.

V. Will there be anymore transfer activity before the transfer window closes?

I`d like to think so, there is still talk of Harper coming from Reading, so it’s wait and see I guess.

VI. Swindon Town on Tuesday night – will Mick McCarthy and Wolves take this one seriously?

It’ll be a weaker side, but I don’t think we’ll be looking to get knocked out so Mick will put out a side capable of picking up the result.

VII. What sort of line-up do you expect McCarthy to field?

Zubar is expected to start and teenager James Spray who we all have high hopes for has also been touted by the local media to be involved.

VIII. What do you know about Swindon Town? We haven’t met for 8 years, have we slipped off the Wolves football radar?

Of course, we’re back in the Premier League now so we don’t have time to waste on small lower league sides like yourselves 😉

IX. Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Swindon Town: Score Prediction?

We’ll comfortably pick up the win by two or three goals.

X. Anything you would like to add?

In all seriousness, good luck to Swindon for the rest of the season and hope to see you back in the top divisions soon.

Many thanks to Akela for answering those questions.
