Swindon Town fans maybe getting a little bit apprehensive regarding the lack of transfer activity at the moment but Danny Wilson isn’t… Well, that’s what he’s telling the press anyway!

Talking to the Swindon Evening Advertiser the Swindon boss said that ‘you can see that we`re desperate for the boys up front and people need a break…” but in the same inverview Wilson suggests that he hasn’t got a particular player lined-up, ‘we`re not going to fill anybody with false hopes’ states Wilson.

Meanwhile, Wilson has put the record straight on the Lee Trundle saga. A statement of the Official Swindon Town website states that we have put in a bid which was rejected by Bristol City. It appears that they haven’t given up on the 32 year old Liverpudlian though.

Bristol City have given trials to Vincent Pericard and former-Arsenal forward Quincy Owusu-Abeyie. It’s clear that Trundle doesn’t have a future at Ashton Gate and they’ve used terms such as ‘Fat Camp’ regarding his pre-season training but they are still demanding a decent fee for him!?!

Is this a lesson learned for Gary Johnson? Forking out £1,000,000 for a 30 year old who hadn’t even played about League One was a massive risk… His biggest moment was his goal against Crystal Palace in the 2007/08 Play-Off Semi-Final and that’s pretty much been it… Why else would they want him off the wage bill?

This guy is a League One footballer at best, I do wonder how much City want for him it must be £250,000+ Andrew Fitton was willing to play £400,000 for Owain Tudur Jones so maybe it’s more… However, considering his age and his past seasons form that would be crazy!

What do you think? Is Danny Wilson ‘barking up the wrong tree’ in his search for a striker or is Trundle exactly what Swindon Town need?
