After an eventful afternoon our attention returns to the pitch as Swindon Town take on table topping Leicester City at the County Ground in front of over 10,000 fans.

Vital Quotes:

‘There have been quite a few changes since I left Leicester but I have massive respect for Leicester City Football Club and their supporters.

‘Leicester are top of the table at the moment and they are a big club, but anyone can beat anyone. ‘

Swindon Town Midfielder Lilian Nalis

‘They’ve (Swindon) gone out of two cups this week, and then lost their manager so they will have a point to prove.’

Leicester City striker DJ Campbell

Swindon Town Team News:

Swindon Town caretaker boss Dave Byrne may be looking to shake things about after Town got knocked out of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on Wednesday. Jerel Ifil could return to the squad after Patrick Kanyuka had a nightmare game on Wednesday. Lee Peacock and Hasney Aljofree should be fit to return. Michael Timlin and Craig Easton will face a late fitness test.

Player to watch: The Whole Team

They all have a point to prove after being knocked out of 2 cups this past week. All the players will be wanting to get one over Leicester to give the new manager something to think about when he arrives.

Leicester City Team News:

Leicester City currently sit top of League One with 31 points after being relegated from the Coca Cola Championship last term. The Foxes away form has been pretty good and Nigel Pearson’s men will be looking to get one over a team who is in turmoil this week. Marc Edworthy who was out with a dead leg should be fit for action. Leicester will be boosted by the news that strikers DJ Campbell and Paul Dickov are fit and available for selection after both featured in Leicester City’s FA Cup match against Stevenage Borough.

Player to watch: Matt Fryatt

Fryatt is enjoying his best season since scoring 11 goals for Walsall during the 2005/06 season before moving to Leicester and scoring 6 more that season. Fryatt currently has 12 goals to his name this term and will be looking to add to that tally.

Match Facts & Stats

The last time the two clubs met was at Wembley Stadium for the 1993 Division One play-off final. Town took an early 3-0 lead before Leicester clawed it back to 3-3. 73,802 fans saw a classic and it looked as if it was going to added time until Steve White was awarded a penalty for Swindon which current Swindon Town youth team manager Paul Bodin slotted away giving Town promotion to the Premier League.

Match Prediction:

Well Town have everything to prove. The fans will be on their backs pretty quickly if things go sour. With Maurice Malpas out of the equation Town fans will target the players. I would like to think we can get something from the game but Leicester are a good side. The optimist says 2-2, the realist says 1-3 away win.
