It’s derby time. Swindon Town travel to Bristol to take on Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium on Tuesday night.

With both teams securing League One football for next season over the weekend, pride is at stake in this heated west country derby.

Bristol Rovers come out of the weekend ensuring League One football after drawing 1-1 with Gillingham at the Memorial Stadium on the weekend. The draw coincidently puts Gills on the brink of relegation which Swindon Town can ensure next weekend at Priestfield. Stuart Campbell should be able to play after overcoming an ankle injury prior to the Gillingham game. Steve Phillips will be in goal as usual for The Gas to wind up the Swindon Town fans. Manager Paul Trollope could blood some youngsters after naming the same team for the last 2 games. Jeff Hughes could face a late fitness test after injuring himself against Crystal Palace in a reserve match.

Swindon won the las game between the sides 1-0 after Christian Roberts scored a penalty for Town. The match was a heated affair with Steve Phillips pushing Simon Cox about which improved the atmosphere which was actually quite flat up until that time. Historically Town are 62-21-62 against Bristol Rovers. Rovers won the last game between the 2 clubs at the Memorial Stadium thanks to a Rickie Lambert goal which meant Town had to wait another week for Promotion to League One last season.

Match Prediction:

A tough game to predict. In truth, a lot of Town fans are dreading this game however I’m not. Bristol Rovers have a poor record at home. The atmosphere should be electrifying so we will go for a 2-1 Town win.
