Premiership Killing English Football

The Premier League has taken it’s killing of English Football to new heights after announcing plans to discuss playing games out of the country.

At a meeting in London on Thursday, all 20 Premier League clubs agreed to explore a proposal to extend the season to 39 games.

Those 10 extra games would be played at five different venues, with cities bidding for the right to stage them.

What about the fans who support these clubs? Is it fair to take their club away? What good is a season ticket?

It comes down to one thing, GREED. It is already clear that if you are in the Premier League, the lower leagues don’t exist and no one could care less.

There is so much TV money in the top flight you would think that the money would trickle down the leagues however this does not happen.

This money is not the fans fault of course and we do not have a problem with Premier League fans however, look at the lower leagues.

Greedy Liverpool denied skint Luton Town all the gate receipts from their FA Cup tie which would have helped the club finish the season.

Clubs like Leeds United, Coventry City, Luton Town, Swindon Town and Bournemouth have all fought for their very survival this season however thanks to the Premier League no one could really care less and each club bar Leeds United received minimum media attention despite facing financial ruin.

Why? Because the newspapers and TV stations are more concerned about what Premier League superstar beats up someone in a night club or cheats on his wife as opposed to helping clubs get their plight out.

Long gone are the days of the big clubs buying players from the lower leagues so the money was shared out, Premier League clubs and most of all Arsenal prefer to go out and buy the best talent from abroad to bolster their squads instead of buying form lower league clubs like the days gone by.

The Premier League has now become so obsessed with money it has decided to consider taking the teams away from the supporters who watch them week in and week out to fill their own pockets with more money.

The Premier League is the very reason why the England national team is so poor. English players like Jermain Defoe, Darren Bent and Shaun Wright-Phillips are forced to sit on the bench and come on for 10 minutes instead of starting games so the international superstars can play.

The Premier League is killing English Football and if this keeps up there will be no need for 4 League divisions shortly as the lower league clubs will start to fold one by one as they cannot afford to continue going thanks to the greed of the Premier League chiefs.

Something must be done, and it must be done now.
