Former Preston North End boss Paul Simpson has been linked with the vacant managers job at the County Ground it has emerged.
Simpson was recently sacked as Preston manager after the team got off to a poor start to the season leaving them near the bottom of The Championship.
Simpson worked wondesr at Carlisle United taking them from the Conference to League One before making the switch to Preston.
Simspon has also managed at Rochdale as well as playing for Manchester City, Oxford United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Derby County, plus loan spells at Sheffield United and Walsall, then Blackpool and Rochdale where he was a player manager before joining Carlisle.

He would be a good signing for you guys. I saw him at PNE alot last year and he comes across as a nice chap.
Would he want to drop down here though – with the exception of Poxford has good some experience.. a different face from the usual names put forward.
