Judgement Day is almost here for striker Andy Caton whose contract runs out at the New Year.

Caton has suffered a terrible run of injuries since impressing in his Swindon Town debut at the age of 16. Om his debut against Wrexham, Caton scored his first senior goal and was destined to go onto bigger and better things at Town.

A car crash as well as a knee injury forced Caton to the sidelines however the Oxfordshire striker was given fresh hope of resurrecting his career when then manager Paul Sturrock offered Caton a contract until Christmas to prove his fitness.

Caton`s attempts to prove his fitness have failed and even though he scored for Town last week against Chippenham Town in the Wiltshire Premier Shield, it appears that Caton will be released.

It is thought Caton`s old club North Leigh would be interested in bringing him back as well as Swindon Supermarine where he spent a loan spell earlier in the season before once again getting injured.

I’d be tempted to keep him on – I think there is potential there – but loan him out again, build his confidence up and also his stamina.

I think if he hadn’s had injuries he would have made it into the first team, not sure now as we have other players who would start over him, It is not good for him perhaps a new club would give him the break into first team footabll that he needs.
