The South Stand at Swindon Town’s County Ground has been named after it’s greatest ever player Don Rogers.

Rogers was the hero of Swindon Town’s shock 3-1 win over Arsenal to win the League Cup in 1969.

Rogers scored 2 goals that faithful night in Swindon’s greatest football achievement.

The South Stand previously named the Intel, Nationwide and Kingswood Stand will be known as ‘The Don Rogers Stand’ starting from the 2008/09 season.

Wonder what he would be worth in present day terms. I can remember seeing him play, he was a fantastic player, and loyal too.

I think this is a very good P R move by AF & Co showing how they are trying bring the club together, and also recognise a past hero.
