Give Malpas Time Before Judging

Swindon Town fans have already started to turn on new boss Maurice Malpas after a string of bad results and interesting substitutions, in reality the new gaffer needs more time to mould the squad.

Swindon Town fans have had it out for Malpas ever since he got here as he was not a ‘big name’ fans expected.

The Town boss clearly is getting a battering from some fickle sections of the crowd who expected results right away. The chants of ‘Malpas Out’ have not started yet however given the atmosphere around Swindon games you can only imagine it will be a matter of time and the fan base will become divided again and affect the players on the pitch.

Fans started chanting last night ,’You don`t know what your doing’ when Anthony McNamee who was having a great game was taken off the pitch during Town’s 2-1 loss to Leyton Orient, and there have been several groans of ‘I can see why Motherwell fans hated him’, ‘Malpas doesn`t have a clue’.

We are going to take the approach however that Malpas needs to be given more time. He needs to bring in his own players to play the game how he wants it played. Yes it may be frustrating at the minute however Rome wasn`t built in a day.

Many people have already forgotten, most would have been happy prior to this season just staying in League One. Local newspapers keep going on about the playoffs which are an un-realistic target and has likely added extra pressure to the players.

We only just came up from League Two. We suggest give Malpas to mid-next season and then judge. We were expected to finish mid-table and that`s where we are right now so this season is not a failure.

We have so far achieved what was expected going into the season.

Patience is the key.

I think he has not had the results fair enough – but why begs the question why . He doesn’t come over as an inspiring type character to me. I know PS was of similar character but PS also was very shrewd and knowledgable of the English game. Yes give MM time but doesn’t make good reading at the present, we’ve gone from possible playoffs to the other end of the league. The team selections have been debatable. Its easy to sit back and complain, I like a few others questioned the appointment , hopefully we will eat our words.
