Swindon Town chairman Willie Carson appears to be showing some new passion in the club and declared, ‘We can be Premier League Again’.

While the Swindon Town board are excited with the arrival of Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet and predict the return of Swindon Town to the good ‘ole days, many Swindon Town fans are taking the ‘wait and see’ approach after being promised the world many time’s in the past.

One of those sharing in this excitement is Willie Carson who joined the club in 2001 and seen it through two administrations.

Speaking on the new arrivals at the County Ground Carson said, ‘It’s such an exciting time, We’ve come from the depths of despair of a few weeks ago when we were relegated, to the optimism of now.’

‘Dropping down into League Two was a terrible thing for Swindon Town, but what has happened gives us hope for the future.’

Carson went as far as to say that Swindon Town could be back in the Premier League once again if all the pieces fall into place.

‘We’ve got to get ourselves back into League One – then you never know. We might even do a Watford one day and reach the Premiership again.’ Carson concluded.

Swindon’s only season in the Premiership was in 1994 when the club set the record for most goals conceded, a record they still hold to this day.
