Accrington Stanley have shot to 12th in the League 2 table after a slow start. Accrington will be expecting their biggest crowd of the season after getting average gates of under 2,000. There could be in excess of 1,000 Swindon fans at the game or more as the club promotes this game as seen by this poster.


Stanley have had a great run of results including almost beating Premiership side Watford in the League Cup. This team will be no push over. Accrington stormed the top of the Conference last season and have finally found their form. Michael Welch was included in last week’s League 2 Team of the Week.

Player to watch: Gary Roberts

The talented front man was a runner up in the League Two player of the month awards and will be looking to continue with his great form.

Swindon Town will be without Gareth Whalley, Andy Gurney, Andy Caton and Charlie Comyn-Platt. Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet will not feature. Michael Pook has been on a hot streak and will look to continue this form. Peter Brezovan was named the League 2 player of the month for give me football.

Player to watch: Christian Roberts

Roberts needs to put away goals and show a bit more passion in his play. Should he fail to do this he could find himself dropped to the bench.
