Swindon got over their recent dip in form today by thrashing Tranmere 4-1 away from home. Swindon will have been hoping or a win today with manager- less Tranmere suffering a dreadful season so far, the performance and dominance will no doubt please fans and players alike.

It was the home side however that started the brightest, but Swindon’s gradual ascension in the match paid off when Billy Paynter gave the Robins the lead on 34 minutes and it didn’t take long to double the lead, with Paynter grabbing his second 5 minutes later.

Despite the goal difference, the two teams went into half time fairly well matched, however Wilson’s men came out in a determined mood to get the job done, and the match was sewn up just after the hour mark when McNamee got his first goal for the club in 2 years.

Tranmere rallied late on and pulled a goal back through Chris Shuker on 85 minutes, but Simon Ferry kept Town’s 3 goal advantage by bagging a goal late in stoppage time.
