If Swindon Town are to win promotion to the Championship, they will have to do it the hard way after losing 1-0 to already relegated Yeovil Town at the County Ground.

With Milton Keynes winning their game in convincing fashion 6-1, and Town losing it means it is now a two horse race for the second automatic promotion spot between MK and Preston North End.

Town did go close to scoring thanks to Ben Gladwin but again, Town’s shooting boots were not working.

James Berrett scored the only goal on 58 minutes slamming the ball past Wes Foderingham from just outside the box.

Whilst not being mathematically impossible for Town to go up automatically, Town boss Mark Cooper has conceded defeat in the mission for automatic promotion and says he will now rest players so they can be prepared for the play offs.
