Swindon Town completed a busy day by signing Dave Partridge, Kevin James, Claude Gnapka and Ashley Grimes prior to the 5pm deadline to sign players on loan.

Dave Partridge (Bristol City)

Partridge 28 signed on loan initially for one month, will replace captain Ady Williams who is out for the season with a knee injury.

Partridge a defender, joined City from Scottish Premier League side Motherwell for £150,000 prior to the 2005/06 season.

Partridge has also had loan spells at MK Dons, Leyton Orient and Brentford.

Ashley Grimes (Manchester City)

Versitile Grimes can play in midfield or as a striker and will be a useful addition to the squad for the end of season run in. He has scored 7 goals for Man City’s reserve team this season.

Grimes arrival will put pressure on the current misfiring strikers.

Claude Gnapka

Gnapka a defender will join fellow frenchmen Sofiene Zaaboub and Patrick Noubissie at Swindon. Claude will be eligible to join the squad in time for Sunday’s match, subject to the necessary international clearance being granted by the footballing authorities.

Gnapka had been playing previously for Spanish sides Alaves and Racing Santander.

Kevin James (Nottingham Forest)

James plays predominantly as a right-winger.

James was initialy a Charlton trainee, but was released at the age of 20, joining Gillingham. Here he showed promise, and after four years he moved on to Nottingham Forest. His time at Forest has not been successful, however, and he has made few appearances since joining the club. He has previously had loan spells with Boston United, Walsall, Yeovil Town and Grimsby Town.

During his time at Charlton, Kevin won the Charlton Athletic Table Tennis trophy, beating Kevin Lisbie in the final.

Kevin James at Walsall had loads of pace but was more productive down the centre. But once he has decided he isn’t bothered and not getting the right pass you might as well take him off.

Hopefully these bods will give the others a rude awakening and perhaps we’ll get back into business again.

Put them all in and drop the miss-firing donkeys, that couldn’t score in a brothe*!!

Players with the calibre of Roberts and Peacock should have scored 30 goals between them at least this season – they are not perfoming – drop them both and stick the new guys in…

I suppose a lot depends on their match fitness , but I’m with you wellsy, can’t be any worse.
