New Swindon Town owner Andrew Fitton has dropped a hint linking Swindon Town with Leyton Orient boss Martin Ling who is the favourite to take over at the County Ground.

Ling had previously stated that he wants to manage Swindon Town one day and has shown his frustration over lack of fan support for Leyton Orient despite being fifth in the League One table going into the Boxing Day fixtures.

Speaking to the press Fitton said, ‘There are always people who might want the job but can’t apply because of their current situation – and we may consider making an approach for someone,’

Leyton Orient senior management have already told Swindon to back off and that any approach for Ling would be turned down.

If Ling does want the Swindon Town job he could do what Ian Holloway did and resign from his position of manager thus enabling Ling to join Swindon should Orient turn down any approach.

Martin Ling and Steve Cotterill are the favourites among Town fans whilst, Steve White, Martin Allen, Joe Kinnear, Micky Adams and Luc Nijholt have all declared an interest in the vacant managers job at Swindon.

Nor me, would like to see a more experienced mananger with championship/premeiership experience under his belt. i also think ex-swindon town player would have more pressure on him from the fans to succeed.
