Swindon Town have completed the loan signing of Preston North End goalkeeper Andy Lonergan.
Lonergan, is a product of Preston`s youth system was North End`s number 1 goalkeeper before going out with a serious knee injury that he suffered in a training session. The injury sidelined the young keeper for 6 months.
Lonergan has had trouble getting back into the Preston first team and has found himself playing reserve football since returning from the injury.
Lonergan had a brief loan spell at League 2 side Wycombe Wanderers last season playing in 2 games and kept a clean sheet. Another injury brought the loan spell to an abrupt end after only 2 games.
The Official Swindon Town website notes that the keeper will go straight into the side this Saturday against Hereford United.
The loan deal will initially be for a month as he competes with Phil Smith for the number 1 shirt whilst Peter Brezovan recovers from a broken arm.

I think it is bad that Phil Smith has been dropped to the bench, he has played well up to now.
