Midfielder Paul Smith will not be back for the 2006/07 Season.

Smith who joined Swindon from Gillingham in January lead Swindon Town to 16th in the League One table last season until he was sidelined with an ankle injury that kept him out for most of the second half of the season.

Speaking to the Local Media Smith commented on the latest developments after he became the second player (Steve Jenkins the other), in a week, who believed they had a contract for next season sorted out.

‘I am not bitter at all though. The new manager has come and has his own ideas and I just have to accept it and get on with sorting out a new club. Perhaps I will be back here playing against Swindon next season.’

We Wish Paul Smith the best of luck for the upcoming season.

personally I think that this is a bad decision on Wise’s part. He would have been good in league2, I suppose though he plays similar position to Wise.

Totally agree with the above, hope Wisey has got plans cos at the moment there doesn’t seem much happening in the ‘players in dept..’ glad to see back of of the ‘poison dwarf’ Cureton though..

Cureton is no lose. I hope wise has already got players in mind to replace the ones he ahs just got rid of. Time is getting on.
