Swindon Town goalkeeper Peter Brezovan has expressed his desire to remain at Swindon although Swansea City have shown interest in the Slovak goalkeeper.

Brezovan’s agent is keen to start talks with Swindon Town about a new contract at Swindon or find out whether Brezovan has a future at the County Ground after the 2008/09 season when his contract ends.

Town chief executive Nick Watkins told BBC Radio Swindon that Brezovan is a key part to the clubs plans going forward and that contract talks will begin once pre-season is finished.

Brezovan told the Swindon Advertiser, ‘I don’t want to go somewhere else. I’ve got a good position, I want to stay here in Swindon and play well this season and see what happens after that.’

Swansea City boss Ramon Martinez is a keen admirer of Brezovan and is keen on trying to sort out a deal that would take Brezovan to join the Championship new boys. Martinez has even spoken to Brezovan’s agent according to the goalkeeper.

Brezovan told the Swindon Advertiser, ‘I spoke to my agent after my holiday. He said to me about Swansea, and that’s what I read in the paper.

‘He spoke with the manager of Swansea, but I am still under contract so it’s not too easy for them as well.’

Brezovan became a cult hero after saving 2 penalties on his league debut against Hartlepool United during the 2006/07 season.
