Southend United’s decision to appoint former Swindon Town manager Paul Sturrock could result in Shrimpers fans realising that their beloved club could become a Swindon Town ‘rejects’ team!

When Sturrock was in charge of Swindon he was known for bringing in players he had signed in the past from other clubs.

Steve Adams, Hasney Aljofree, Barry Corr, Craig Easton, Jon-Paul McGovern and his son Blair are among the names he coached at either Dundee United, Plymouth Argyle and Sheffield Wednesday who ended up in Wiltshire.

Already, the likes of Craig Easton, Blair Sturrock and former Plymouth player Peter Gilbert have been linked with moves to Roots Hall (possibly simply because Paul Sturrock is in charge) but two players who have definately reported for training are Barry Corr and Sofi Zaaboub. Both were relatively popular players during their spells at Swindon.

Had it been for injuries Barry Corr would have almost certainly still been a Swindon player while Zaaboub fell out of favour when Sturrock left for Plymouth.
