Christian Roberts has confirmed some of the players who are scheduled to line-up for the Welshman’s final farewell from the County Ground.

The match will be between a Swindon Town Select XI and Chelsea All-Stars

Confirmed thus far are…

Shaun Taylor
Paul Bodin
Sam Parkin
Gustavo Poyet
Gianfranco Zola
Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink

Talking to the Evening Advertiser, Roberts has stated that it is unlikely that he will feature but there may be an appearance by his eight year old son Ethan – who could get the opportunity to humiliate soap stars and other ex-players who will appear during the game.

Most importantly, Christian Roberts has confirmed that money raised that evening will go towards Cancer Research.

The fixture will take place at the County Ground on Wednesday 11th February.

I’d imagine quite a few Chelsea fans will turn up for this, sounds like a great line up so far!

i wonder if Wise will be involved seeing as he seemed to get on well with Roberts ….

  • Nellup says:

I think a different article had Wise confirmed too. I’m sure the night could attract some press.

I am not the ‘biggest’ Dennis Wise fan, and expect some idoits to shout and swear if he does attend, but everyone whom goes to this game should remember that its all about showing respect to Christian and to thank him for his hard work. Good Luck in your new job chris.

‘Hard work’ and Christian Roberts simply don’t go together in my opinion.I very rarely saw him give 100% for the entire 90 minutes for Swindon Town, maybe that was because of a condition which was entirely self inflicted.Footballers are very fortunate to have been given a talent that allows them to earn a good living from playing a game.Christian Roberts wasted his.

Christian Roberts has always been somewhat of a marmite player. Still liked at Exeter while Bristol City fans were divided just as Swindon fans are/were.

It’s not a testimonial, I’m not sure whether this game is officially recognised by Swindon – they may simply be the hosts.

    Either way it’s for charity.
