Swindon Town mainstay Michael Timlin has been offered a new one year contract with the club.

Timlin, 26, has been associated with the club since his first of two loan spells back in 2006.

He joined on a permanent basis from Fulham in 2008 and has been in and out of the squad since.

In 2010, Timlin spent some time out on loan with Southend United and it is believed that form Town manager Paul Sturrock, who signed Timlin while at the County Ground, is keen to tempt the former Ireland U-21 cap to Roots Hall this summer.

Timlin has made 119 league appearances for Swindon, scoring 6.
