Swindon Town striker Christian Roberts has admitted he would have booed the team off the pitch after letting Town’s travelling army down last night at Barnet.

In remarkable scenes at Underhill, Swindon Town had more fans at the game than their hosts Barnet. Barnet stewards had to move Barnet fans into the family stand to accomodate the Town fans who had over-filled the East Terrace.

ATTENDANCE: 2,639

Away (Swindon Town): 1,431

Home (Barnet): 1,208

Town went on to lose the match 1-0 and Christan Roberts has apologised for the poor showing the team displayed despite the game being more of a home match for the visitors.

‘The support we have brought here is remarkable and we have let every single one of them down.’ Roberts said.

The fans booed and jeered after the match and manager Paul Sturrock had even admitted that some players will no longer be playing due to the lack of commitment to the cause (getting promotion back to League One).

Roberts was questioned about whether the fans voicing their displeasure was justified to which he replied. ‘Of course they have a right to boo, I think I would.’ Roberts finished.
