Our response to the Statements released by Swindon Town F.C today.

Response To Swindon Town FC Statement

Many people have asked Vital Swindon Town to respond to the recent statements made by Swindon Town F.C. We feel this is the right time to reply as we feel we can no longer go on pretending that nothing is happening within the club.

We at Vital Swindon Town find the whole situation regarding the current problems at the club to be regrettable and sadly these problems have over shadowed the fantastic success we are enjoying on the pitch at the moment.

The club had enjoyed a fantastic run of 7 wins until 2 weeks ago when a radio report, reported of a ‘rift’ amongst certain members of the board. After this news came to light many fans decided to add fuel to the fire by starting rumours. Some of these rumours were founded whilst several were not.

Whilst the club most certainly agrees that there are some issues that need to be ironed out within the senior management, we find it regrettable that the club has chosen to use the media to discuss these issues.

The people mentioned in the statements have ties to the club in one way or another through supporters groups etc and we feel perhaps contacting them directly instead of releasing a statement naming these people would have been more productive and alleviated peoples fears of a rift.

We are not members of the board nor do we have any connection to the club so we cannot and will not say what happened in the board room and discuss any rumoured rift because frankly we don`t know and it`s not for us to know.

We will also state we do not know the Wills Family, Mr Diamandis, Mr Devlin or anyone else connected to the board and therefore we are not entitled to personal opinions about them and their past and roles at the club. We have always been fair and impartial and have never once tried to stir things up. We will continue to do this.

We have given the club lots of free advertising due to our support for the club and it’s future. We hope this continues.

We therefore invite the fans to get behind the team 100% and cheer on Dennis, Gus and the Players to Promotion back to League One this season.

For years the club has been nothing but a laughing stock, how many board members does a club need? The Wills family have put money into the club for years (true) but it is rumoured that they have also blocked attempts by other people to take the club forward with investment – Count the days until administration….and -10 points

You cannot go into administration for a third time. You would be insolvent then.
