After the fantastic win at Millwall on the weekend, Swindon Town travel to the Liberty Stadium to take on promotion rivals Swansea City.

Vital Quotes:

‘Swansea City are expected to win every game – and our targets have not changed – but no team in the world plays fantastically well for the entire 90 minutes

“Swindon are difficult in that they are very strong and very well organised,

“They are having a little bit of an after party from promotion last season. When you are in that mood you are very dangerous.”

‘But I thought we finished well and hopefully we will give the fans plenty to cheer against Swindon at the Liberty on Tuesday.’

Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez

‘Swansea’s home form is second to none and it will be another difficult test for us. We can go into the game with some confidence after two wins on the bounce but Swansea and a tough side to break down. They pass the ball very well and they have the type of manager who likes to play the game the right way. They have the firepower to finish off the chances they create and if we don’t get in their faces from the kick-off, they will hurt us.

I haven’t been to The Liberty Stadium before so it will be a first visit for myself and a few of the players.’

Swindon Town manager Paul Sturrock

Swansea City Team News:

Swansea City have been poor at home this season and this form continued with a 0-0 draw against Brighton on the weekend. Swansea are 1-2-1 at home so far this season. The Swans currently sit 11th in League One this season and will look to kick start their season. Striker Darryl Duffy has an outside chance of recovering from a groin strain in time for the Swindon match. Swansea will be without Midfielders Andy Robinson and Leon Britton as well as Alan Tate.

Player to watch: Jason Scotland

Scotland a Trinidad & Tobago international has scored 9 goals in all competitions this season and will test the rock hard Swindon defence. Swansea look as if they have their replacement for striker Lee Trundle who joined Bristol City in the Summer from the Swans.

Swindon Town Team News:

Swindon come to Swansea high on confidence after beating Millwall 2-1 at The Den on Saturday. Swindon have yet to lose on the road or conceed more than one goal in any game this season. Barry Corr, Ady Williams and Andy Nicholas are all out. Billy Paynter should be fit to play despite a groin injury.

Player to watch: Simon Cox

Cox has done well so far during his loan spell at Town, He has scored 3 goals since arriving from Reading and will be looking to add to that total.

Match Facts & Stats

The last time the 2 clubs met was back during the 2005-06 League One season which would see Swindon relegated at the end of it. Goals from Andy Robinson & Adrian Forbes ensured The Swans took all 3 points with a 2-1 victory over Swindon. Ricky Shakes who is now at Brentford scored the goal for Swindon.

Match Prediction:

Swansea 2, Swindon Town 2 both teams look as if they can score goals right now. I would happily take a point from this fixture.
