Swindon Town manager Paul Sturrock gives his view on the 2-0 loss to Mansfield last night at Field Mill.

‘We didn’t pick players up for the first goal and we knew this was a dangerous place to come. To give a goal away so early was a massive disappointment and it made it very difficult.

‘Not enough of our players think about getting goals, although I thought Lukas had a fantastic game today. He was a threat and did all the things that I like of a centre forward. Lukas retained the ball well but Robbo did not. If you cant keep the ball up front then it comes straight back at you and that was something that I was not pleased about.

‘As I said we have got too many defenders at the minute. Over the past few weeks it has been a learning curve. Some have benefited from the work we have done, some have not.

‘I want us to be a crossing side and we got a lot of balls into the box tonight. We haven’t scored enough goals this season but I am trying to change the way the players think. There are not enough of them who want to get on the end of things and find the net.

‘The positives for me was the performance of Lukas Jutkiewicz and also the amount of crosses into the box. We played miles better than we did on Saturday, but we need to bust a gut to get those goals.’

‘Lee Peacock was missing today with a shoulder injury, but hopefully that wont keep him out for too long.’
