Town Manager Iffy Onuora has said no to signing Striker Trevor Benjamin. Benjamin joined Town from Peterborough United and had done enough to impress the Manager. It appear’s that Benjamin’s 2 year contract with The Posh is the problem.

‘Trevor has two years left on his contract with Peterborough and has gone back there, ‘ said Onuora.

‘It might have been different if he hadn’t been under contract. But he is and to keep him we would have had to pay money.’

Speaking on Benjamin’s performance at Swindon, Onuora replied, ‘Trevor is okay. He did us a good job at Swindon and, as I said, had he been on a free and available then things might have been different.’

Town go into next season with strikers Lee Peacock, Ashan Holgate and Jamie Cureton who is likely to leave Town in the Summer.
