Former Everton Defender and Swindon captain Sean O’Hanlon wants to sign a new contract before the end of the season. O’Hanlon who is likely to attract interest from a number of clubs in the summer has said, he does not want to wait until the summer to get his future resolved. Speaking of the on-going talks, O’Hanlon said. ‘We’re still in negotiations and, hopefully, we can get it sorted as soon as possible, ‘

‘My agent has been away so it’s been delayed a little bit. I’m just waiting for him to get back and then we can sort it all out, hopefully.’

The only stumbling block appears to be that O’Hanlon doesn’t really want to play in League Two next season as he stated. ‘Which division we’re in next year isn’t necessarily a factor, although, obviously, everyone is ambitious and nobody wants to play in League Two.’

‘Rhys (Evans) was in a situation last year when he came infor pre-season and still hadn’t signed, for whatever reason, and I don’t really want that.

‘I want to finish the season knowing where my future is and then I can relax over the summer, knowing where I will be.’

Sean O’ as O’Hanlon is affectionatly known as also stated that the signings of Charlie Comyn-Platt, Ricky Shakes, Michael Pook and Jack Smith will help make his decision a bit easier.
