No Premier League for Morrison

Former Swindon centre-back Sean Morrison will not be competing to play in the Premier League next season after his new club Reading lost The Championship Play-Off Final at Wembley. Swansea City won 4-2 in an exciting finale to the domestic season.

Morrison, 20, was considered by Danny Wilson as the replacement for Gordon Greer. However, despite impressing going forward (scoring three goals), Swindon suffered defensively.

This factor didn’t stop Reading coming in and paying what was believed to be in the region of £250,000 for his services in January.

Since becoming a Reading player Morrison has been unable to play one senior fixture. He was sent out on loan to Huddersfield Town but failed to make an appearance with the Terriers before being recalled back to Berkshire.

Sitting on the Reading bench today was former Swindon Town midfielder Brian Howard and ex-loanee Hal Robson-Kanu, the latter making it on to the pitch.
