Swindon Town chief executive Mark Devlin is back in hospital after he suffered an infection to a wound as a result of a plane crash earlier in the season.

Devlin who along with his son Stan and former investor Bill Power, were involved in a serious plane crash whilst returning from Swindon`s first away fixture at Hartlepool, had been hoping to return to the County Ground any day soon.

Devlin who has been criticised for his role in taking Swindon Town £700,000 into debt had been hoping to return to the club to explain the overspend that has left a gaping hole in the clubs finances and leaves the club in a difficult position in terms of finding funds to clear the over spend.

Devlin returned to the County Ground last season and had improve club-fan relations prior to his absence from the club.
Devlin has been wearing a back support after injuring his back in the plane crash and had several operations during the following few weeks.

Over the weekend, Devlin was readmitted into hospital as one of the wounds from the crash became infected.

Devlin has since had 2 operations, One on Saturday and one yesterday to clear up the problem.

The Chief Executive is expected to be released in the next week or so after doctors can see how he progresses.
