AFC Wimbledon Terry Brown deserves a lot of credit. He has guided the neutrals favourite team to the Football League and within one division of Milton Keynes Dons the side that caused their creation.

But the Wimbledon manager, who has zero Football League experience, has directed a bizarre dig towards Swindon Town’s new manager.

Talking to the local press this week Brown proclaimed ‘I think I know more about the second division than Paolo Di Canio does anyway,’ and continued by stating that he is ‘sure all Swindon fans are incredibly excited about having an Italian legend as their manager but some of them must be asking themselves what he knows about that level – where is he going to get his players from?’

Well, he might have a point! To Di Canio’s credit he told the media last week (clearly missed by Brown) that he would be looking for players with experience at this level instead of shipping in a bunch of Italians with no knowledge of lower league football in England.

Brown continued by saying that if Di Canio ‘thinks he is going to get players of his calibre and skill then he is mistaken – he won’t.’

Ouch!

DOES TERRY BROWN HAVE A POINT? CAN DI CANIO ATTRACT THE APPROPRIATE TYPE OF PLAYER TO SWINDON TOWN?
