Vital Swindon Town continues our ground reviews as we look at Scunthorpe United’s Glanford Park.

Atmosphere – 2/10

For the most part Glanford Park was like a library. The Scunthorpe fans were incredibly quiet for a team who was a top of the league. The away end was OK and with a big crowd you could certainly create an atmosphere there.

View – 6/10

The view in the away end is impaired by several posts and a large scoreboard if you are stood at the back.

Stewarding – 4/10

For the most part the stewards were very heavy handed and clashed with fans who were giving the Scunthorpe goalkeeper stick. A few of the stewards near the food kiosk were helpful as well as the car park attendant.

Food – 7/10

As we never had any breakfast we had a hot dog and cheeseburger. The Hot Dog was very nice and had a proper Lincolnshire sausage. The cheeseburger was similar to that at the County Ground.

Getting In and out – 10/10

The ground is right across from a Tesco, Frankie and Bennies, McDonalds and many other commercial shops. The ground is located right off a round about. The stewards seemed to have everything sussed out and close the road to allow Football traffic to leave easily. Very well organised.

Overall

A 3-3 draw away from home at the team who is top of the league is great. The fans were friendly at the Berkley Hotel and the pints were cheap at £1.65 a pint! It was a bit of a novelty getting 3 pints for under £5.00 and still have change. Apart from the stewarding a very enjoyable day out and would recommend to any fan.
