Rumours are beginning to circulate that Swindon Town Chairman Willie Carson is set to leave the club.

A national newspaper reported that Willie Carson is close to finalising the details of his departure from the County Ground.

Carson the famous scottish jockey, who joined the club in 2001 and put £450,000 into the club to ensure its survival has taken a back seat recently and mainly appears at bigger matches.

With the club relegated to League 2 it looks like Carsons replacement would be Bill Power who joined the club last month as a Director.

If true, many fans will be glad to see a ‘football man’ in charge, however fans will always be thankful for the money Carson did put into the team.

Sir Seton Wills would remain the main shareholder at the club.
