With midfielder Andy Monkhouse out with a hamstring injury suffered at Shrewsbury last week, Aaron Brown is looking forward to the challenge of holding on to the midfield spot.

‘I fell down the pecking order at the start of the season and Andy has done well to keep the shirt,’ said Brown.

‘It is unfortunate for him (Monkhouse’ injury), but I have to concentrate on taking my chance now.’

At the beginning of the season Brown put in a transfer request but withdrew it shortly there after. This looked to annoy Dennis Wise who ironically talked about loyalty and never gave Brown a game.

No, definitely not,’ Brown insisted. ‘Just because I wasn’t playing doesn’t mean I wasn’t happy.

Was Brown happy to see Wise leave Swindon Town for Leeds? ‘I’m disappointed Dennis has gone, because he came in and gave us belief.

‘I think relegation had knocked that out of some of us.’ The club have got off to a great start and find themselves third in the League 2 table going into Saturday’s game with Lincoln City.

Brown stated to the media that he firmly believes that losing Dennis Wise was a disapointment however Ady Williams has all the qualities to carry on where Wise and Gus Poytet left off.

‘Dennis going wasn’t that much of a shock,’ said Brown.

‘The speculation had been going on for a number of weeks. It’s very disappointing to lose him, but I think Ady has got the qualities to get us where we want to be.

‘He is a self-proclaimed busy-body. He likes to be involved in everything, is very vocal on the pitch and leads by example.

‘I think he has the type of character that is perfect for football management – whether he gets the Swindon job or looks for something when he retires.

‘We can’t worry about losing Wisey now otherwise we will be down in the dumps. Ady is the manager and we have to follow his leadership now.’ Brown finished.

Hopefully Aaron is now on planet earth again, and will push Andy for the place – mind you Andy is a bit of a ‘sicknote’ player.
