Club Statement

With reference to Paul Davis’s comments with regards to Friday’s meeting, The Wills family emphasised to all the supporter groups who attended the meeting that the management team that run the football club totally reflect their position and act according to their wishes.

The recent motions passed at the Trust STFC meeting against the ‘non-football management staff’ are, in the opinion of the Wills family, a direct attack against the Board and the Wills family themselves. They emphasised their disappointment that the motions had been passed, and consider the motions as another example of the regular criticism that The Board have endured at the hands of The Trust over the last five years.

Prior to the Trust STFC meeting of Wednesday 27th September Mike Diamandis was briefed to inform Paul Davis as to the extent of the clubs financial problems including the shortfall in the budget that has been made public over the last few weeks. The minutes of the meeting as detailed on the TrustSTFC website indicate that Paul Davis did not accurately pass on to the Trust the information that Mike Diamandis had provided.

The Board welcomes feedback and assistance from all fans of STFC, but believes that the way the Trust’s criticisms of the Board have been reported recently has firstly taken the focus away from the team’s achievements on the pitch so far this season, and secondly failed to focus on the most important issue; an overspend that the Board now needs to resolve.

At a time when everyone interested in the long-term future of the club should be working constructively together, the Board have had to face personal attacks. When, at the meeting on Friday, we asked if there was any money behind the consortium, we were told that currently there is not. By Mr Wilks’ own admission he has no real funds to invest himself. He has made serious allegations towards Dunwoody, publicly insulted the Board, but was not able to attend the meeting on Friday when all the other invited made themselves available.

We appeal to all the supporters groups to help us improve the image of our football club. We appeal to the local press to contact the club for information regarding the club, and refrain from printing exaggerated and misleading articles that can only damage the long-term stability of the club. We appeal to Trust STFC to do one positive thing to help us, and that is to publicly state what was agreed on Friday; that The Board always operates with the best interests of the club at heart.

What are they playing at now. Why release this today I am seriously questioning their motives as to why they are still intent to cause disarray to the club. I thought all concerned had agreed to a truce then fans have to read this pointless statement. The board are a total joke.

one more thing, the board slate Mr Wilkes for not attending the meeting when everyone else made the effort. Does that mean Diamondis was actually there then??????????????????? as he seems to be one of the main players in the board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but noone ever sees.,
