Swindon Town Lose £200,000

Deputy Chairman Mark Devlin has revealed that the club will look to lose £200,000 by dropping into League Two.

Speaking to the Swindon Advertiser, Devlin said, ?I would say relegation would see a minimum hit of between £150,000 and £200,000, with money from central funds.’

Lucky for Swindon Town, Former QPR Director Bill Power has joined the club and will be able to cover some of the shortfall as Devlin explains, ?However, Bill?s arrival has added fresh impetus and will, alongside the continued support of our major shareholders, hopefully cushion the blow somewhat.’

Speaking on the boards view on the club being relegated Devlin said, ?Relegation is gutting for everyone concerned with the club but I believe there are reasons for optimism.?

The club will look to lose a lot more money given their will likely be lower attendances in League Two with a lower standard of football. Less fans through the gates mean less food, programme and shirt sales.
